What are the methods to improve the success rate of ladle blowing with argon
1. Improve the masonry process. Before repairing the tank, investigate and check the breathable bricks. It is stipulated that the working surface of the breathable bricks should not be lower than 30mm at the bottom of the tank to avoid cold steel; check whether the metal hose is burnt out and whether the 2-head screws are loose. It is necessary In order to ensure the strength of argon blowing and reduce the penetration and blockage of molten steel, use a feeler gauge to check the air passage of the breathable brick slit before masonry, and select a breathable brick with an air passage width suitable for the working conditions; check the tail pipe of the breathable brick before masonry Whether the thread is damaged. During the process of building the breathable brick, make sure that the tail pipe does not enter the dust and debris. After the ladle is repaired, the waste at the head of the breathable brick should be cleaned.
2. Careful use. During the use of the breathable brick, the flow of argon gas should be strictly controlled at different processing stages to avoid the bottom blowing of large flow to accelerate the corrosion of the bottom blowing breathable brick. Leakage of the joint is dealt with immediately to avoid gas leakage, which will cause the pressure in the pipeline to drop, resulting in the failure of bottom blowing.
3. Strengthen the maintenance of air-permeable bricks. Because the bottom-blown air-permeable bricks are corroded, the concave parts are easy to accumulate steel and condense. After the steel is poured, the gas source (argon or compressed air) is immediately connected to the large ladle turntable. Condensed infiltrated steel and accumulated steel in the depression part of bottom-blown breathable bricks. After the ladle is turned over and the slag is poured, lift it to the hot repair area and put it down, and then connect the quick connector to test the flow of breathable bricks with compressed air or argon. When the flow rate requirement is reached, the quick connector can be pulled out without treatment or fine treatment; if the flow rate cannot meet the requirements, the oxygen-burning back-flushing measures shall be adopted. Or the coal-oxygen gun removes the cold steel cold slag remaining on the working surface of the permeable brick until the flow rate of the permeable brick meets the requirements. On the premise that the flow rate and blowing rate of the permeable brick meet the requirements, oxygen burning for a long time should be prevented as much as possible. The distance between the front end of the gun and the working surface of the breathable brick is kept at about 50mm. The closer the interval is, the longer the oxygen burning time will be, which will accelerate the melting loss of the working surface of the breathable brick, thereby artificially reducing the service life of the breathable brick.
