How to Reduce Inclusions in Steel in Medium Frequency Induction Furnace Smelting

How to Reduce Inclusions in Steel in Medium Frequency Induction Furnace Smelting

(1) Reasonable selection of raw materials

When selecting raw materials to reduce inclusions, the following issues should be considered.

1) Control the inclusions brought by the iron alloy. The micro-carbon ferrochromium produced by the vacuum method has a high content of chromium oxide.

Secondly, ferrochromium, ferrotitanium and ferroboron produced by aluminothermic method contain more oxide inclusions.

2) Control the proportion of the return material. The return material is an important source of foreign inclusions. The residual AL, Ti, Zr, Re, etc. all enter the molten steel in the form of inclusions, which are difficult to remove. Therefore, the higher the amount of return material, the more The higher the inclusion content in the steel, the worse the quality of the product.

3) Select sedated industrial pure iron with high purity. Industrial pure iron for batching will also bring in a lot of inclusions. The inclusion content of boiling or semi-sedated pure iron is high; sedated pure iron is second; vacuum refining pure iron is pure.

(2) Make the covering slag well to reduce the air pollution of molten steel.

(3) To strengthen the final deoxidation of molten steel, a multi-component composite deoxidizer is selected, combined with ladle sedation and bottom blowing argon, to reduce the residual amount of deoxidation products.

(4) Do a good job of cleaning the furnace table, tapping hole, ladle and pouring system (including ingot mold) and sucking and removing floating sand to reduce foreign inclusions.
