Method for prolonging the service life of intermediate frequency furnace lining

Method for prolonging the service life of intermediate frequency furnace lining

In the use of electric furnaces, the life of our furnace lining mostly depends on the corrosion level of the furnace bottom and the integrity of the furnace lining to determine whether it can continue to be used.

1. Corrosion at the bottom of the furnace

In the normal use of the furnace lining, the thickness of the furnace lining and the thickness of the furnace bottom will gradually become thinner in the long-term use due to the circulation of molten iron. It will be knocked down again at times, and then the new furnace construction work will be stopped. From the analysis of the entire furnace lining, the position with obvious erosion is the slope position where the furnace bottom and the furnace lining are separated. The thick furnace lining has been eroded to be similar to the furnace lining and on an arc surface, so that the earthwork separated from the furnace bottom material and the furnace lining presents a slight depression. With the increase of furnace age, the depression at this position It is getting deeper and deeper and closer to the coil of the electric furnace, which affects the safety of use, and it is necessary to stop the re-building of the furnace. The reason for the formation of the depression of the furnace lining is not only because of the density of quartz sand when building the furnace, but also with the feeding in our use. There is a relationship between chemical corrosion during condensation and mechanical corrosion during operation.

2. The integrity of the furnace lining

The integrity of the furnace lining refers to the iron infiltration and cracks that often appear in the furnace lining. In our daily life, there are often weekend breaks and shutdowns. When the electric furnace stops condensing in the air, the furnace lining will gradually cool down. The material is a brittle material, so the sintered layer will inevitably crack under the action of thermal expansion and cold contraction, and the cracks are more harmful, which will lead to the infiltration of molten iron into the furnace lining and the phenomenon of furnace leakage. From the perspective of maintaining the furnace lining, the finer the crack, the more It is dense and evenly distributed, because only in this way can the cracks be bridged to the greatest extent when the furnace is cold, and a good sintering layer can be lined.

3. Always conduct a comprehensive inspection of the furnace lining

In daily life, the place where iron infiltration is often seen is the position where the furnace nozzle and the furnace lining are separated. Since they are two different materials, there must be a certain gap at the separation point. This gap creates an opportunity for iron infiltration, and The position of the coil is also under the furnace mouth, so it is very important to carry out regular inspection and repair. If iron infiltration is found, it should be cleaned and repaired in time to avoid damage to the coil. In addition to paying attention to the furnace mouth, we should also Strengthen the inspection of the entire furnace lining, and achieve a comprehensive understanding and timely maintenance of the safety of the entire furnace lining.
